Apple's Spring Loaded event introduced us to the new slimmer, more colorful iMacs, powered by Apple's Silicon M1 chip. Now, the iMacs are available for pre-order in Nepal. Apple M1 iMac is priced at Rs.2,05,000 for the 7-core GPU with 8GBRAM, and 256GB SSD variant. The higher 8-core GPU with 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD is priced at Rs.2,65,000.

Apple M1 iMac Overview

Starting with the design, the new iMac is flat and slim and comes with a narrow border at the sides and top but you will see a large chin at the bottom. The display here is a 24-inch, 4.5K Retina display. With the support of Apple's True Tone tech, the device can automatically adjust the screen color temperature. 

The main highlight of the new iMac is the 8-core M1 chip that powers the device. M1 is the same chip that powers the latest models of MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and the latest iPad Pro. The M1 chip will provide a significant boost to the performance of iMac. Apple said that the iMac was completely redesigned for the M1 chip.

Apple claims that the new iMac is 50% quieter and cooler than the previous models of iMac because of the two small fans on the device which replace the thermal system present in the previous models.

Configuration on the new iMac can be upgraded up to 16GB of RAM and up to 2TB of internal storage.

iMac now features an updated 1080p FaceTime camera with a larger image sensor for better video calls. The camera system now works together with the M1 chip to handle exposure, white balance, and noise reduction settings.

You now get a new magnetic power cable that attaches to the back of the device. Ethernet port is also available on the new iMac but not on the device itself rather the Ethernet port is on the power brick and the connection is delivered through the same magnetic power cable.

Apple is also offering new color matching keyboards, mouse, and trackpad along with the new iMac. The wireless keyboard now has a Touch ID button.
