Vivo's sub-brand iQOO has launched its flagship iQOO 9 Pro in China. The device brings the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, LTPO AMOLED panel, and a 120W fast charging.

iQOO 9 Pro Overview

Design and Display

iQOO 9 Pro features a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED panel with a QHD+ resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels. This LTPO display tech offers a 120Hz refresh rate, 1000Hz instant touch sampling rate, and has a peak brightness of up to 1500nits.

In terms of design, the smartphone features a rectangular camera island that covers most of the upper half of the rear panel. It comes in two different color options of Orange and a Legendary Edition with BMW M Motorsport stripes.

Performance

The iQOO 9 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. It comes with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage.

For cooling, the smartphone features a 3923 mm2 super large area heat spreader, two split-flow power pumps, and a waterfall VC three-dimensional heat dissipation system. The software here is handled by Android 12 based OriginOS 2.0.

Camera

For optics, the 9 Pro has a triple rear camera setup headlined by a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN5 sensor with gimbal and OIS. It is then followed by a 50MP fisheye ultrawide sensor with 150-degree FoV and a 16MP telephoto with 2.5x optical zoom.

Upfront is a 16-megapixel camera on a tiny punch-hole cut-out for selfies and video calls.

Battery and Others

iQOO 9 Pro packs a 4700mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.

There's an ultrasonic 3D wide-area fingerprint sensor that unlocks the device in just 0.2 seconds. Connectivity options on the iQOO 9 Pro include 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.

iQOO 9 Pro Price and Availability

iQOO 9 Pro price in China starts at CNY 4,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model. It will go on sale for the first time on January 12 in China, and the company has also teased that the smartphone will arrive in Inda.

If the iQOO 9 Pro arrives in Nepal, we expect the price to start around Rs.95,000.
