Samsung has posted its earnings report for the second quarter of 2021. The tech giant has reported 10 percent higher revenue and 26 percent higher operating profit year on year. Samsung saw revenue of KRW 73.98 trillion ($63.2 billion) in the quarter and made an operating profit of KRW 15.82 trillion ($13.4 billion). Samsung’s KRW 15.82 trillion operating profit is the highest in the past three years and the second-highest in Samsung history.

Samsung’s semiconductor division was the major booster of the quarter as it posted KRW 26.41 trillion ($22.5 billion) in consolidated revenue and KRW 10.06 trillion ($8.5 billion) in operating profit in the third quarter.

The Display Panel Business posted KRW 8.86 trillion ($7.5 billion) in consolidated revenue and KRW 1.49 trillion ($1.27 billion) in operating profit for the third quarter. Samsung mobile business also saw gains thanks to the launch of its latest generation of foldable smartphones - Galaxy Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. IT & Mobile Communications Division posted KRW 28.42 trillion ($24.26 billion) in consolidated revenue and KRW 3.36 trillion ($2.8 billion) in operating profit for the third quarter.
