Our Verdict

Both of the devices come neck and neck and are equally high-performing Android smartphones you can buy. Picking either one won’t hinder your user experience. Differences between the two are little but we have to crown one as a better.

On paper, S21 can fool you with its 12MP main camera. but, the optimized camera software helps the device take as good or even better pictures compared to the OnePlus 9. Samsung provides security updates for a longer period of time, and the adaptive 120Hz display gives a further edge to Samsung. But things go downhill from there for Samsung.

If you are to list out why the OnePlus 9 is better than Galaxy S21 then:

• The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. Yes, the Galaxy S21 also comes with a Snapdragon 888 but, the variant available in Nepal is equipped with Exynos 2100. The Exynos  2100 is a great processor but not as good as Snapdragon 888. Even the Snapdragon variant of S21 has a better performance than the Exynos variant.
• OnePlus 9 gives 12GB of RAM at a lower price compared to Galaxy S21.
• OnePlus 9 has a slightly bigger battery of 4500mAh compared to 4000mAh in Galaxy S21.
• OnePlus 9 supports 65 watts of fast charging compared to just 25 watts on S21. Most importantly, OnePlus does put a 65watt charger on the box, whereas the 25watt charger of S21 is nowhere to be found on that "environment-friendly" box of Samsung.
