Xiaomi sold $283 million worth of Xiaomi 12 series smartphones in just 5 minutes

Xiaomi recently launched its flagship 12 series smartphones that consisted of Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro, and a more affordable Xiaomi 12X. The first sale of the series was scheduled for December 31st in China. Now reports claim that the company sold 1.8 billion Yuan (~$283 million) worth of smartphones in just five minutes through both offline and online channels.

According to the reports, the compact phone strategy adopted by Xiaomi in its vanilla 12 for the first time in years was one of the main reasons behind its quick success. Also, the pairing with a flagship 12 Pro and a budget-friendly Xiaomi 12X covers a large consumer base, which adds more to its success. Xiaomi will further add an Ultra model to the lineup, rumored to arrive in early 2022.
