Government relaxes lockdown in Nepal, permits shops and private vehicles (odd-even basis) to run

The government has modified the modalities of the ongoing lockdown in Nepal. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held yesterday has decided to open the lockdown in the country in a phased manner. However, the committee hasn’t officially released the details of their decision.
The new modality will come into effect from Thursday. From today, the government has permitted to open all kinds of private clinics providing health services, shops selling medicines, fruits, beverages, and other items.
All kinds of manufacturing industries, agricultural firms, chemical fertilizer sales centers, cold storages, development projects, shops selling electrical goods, book shops, automobile workshops, and offices providing essential services are also allowed to open. Restaurants and cafes are also allowed to provide giveaways to customers.
Besides this, private vehicles are also allowed to run on an odd-even basis starting today. However, all of these activities are only opened for the areas with less coronavirus effect, i.e. green and orange zones. More on, the right social distancing rules and precautions should strictly be followed while running respective activities.
The first phase will last for 21 days and then the second phase will be implemented for the next 15 days. In this way, the government is fully preparing to release the lockdown at various stages.
