As the lockdown due to coronavirus outbreak has been carried around various nations of the globe, it is, in fact, a great measure to control the spread of the virus. And as we are unable to ride our motorcycles and scooters during this lockdown, it is very crucial for us to keep our machines up to date. Therefore, here we have discussed 5 of the important tips which help to keep our store our motorcycle up to date in this long lockdown period.

1. Use fuel stabilizer if available

As the fuel in your bike won’t be used for a longer period of time, it will be a crucial step to use a fuel stabilizer as it bonds with gasoline to prevent evaporation of the fuel. Normally, a fuel stabilizer helps to preserve the fuel for a year. Therefore, make use of it if you already have one.

2. Remove the battery

Most of the motorcycles these days lack kick starter so it is important to note if your bike’s battery is draining by itself. Therefore, during a long period of lockdown like this, it would be a preventive step to disconnect the battery terminals so it won’t drain out on itself.

3. Make use of double-stand

It is crucial to use a center stand especially when you are not using your motorcycle for a longer period of time like this. Lifting the tyres from the ground also helps to avoid possible flat spots due to pressure for a longer time.

4. Use a cover and park under a shade

Always use a parking cover to protect your motorcycle from dust and water while also ensure that it is parked under a shade away from direct sunlight.

5. Protect Yourself

And at last, but not the least, protect yourself whenever stepping outside the house. Take proper safety measures while exposing outside. Cover your eyes, nose, and mouth, wear gloves, full sleeve shirts and masks while moving out. And always wash your hands for 20 seconds whenever touching anything sensitive.

Therefore, first, make sure that you are safe before safeguarding your vehicle.
