MediaTek has officially announced the Dimensity900 chipset, successor to Dimensity820. This new mobile chip of MediaTek is destined for mid-range smartphones. The chip is built on the 6nm process technology and is 5G capable. 

 

Dimensity900 comes with an octa-core CPU that has two clusters. The quad-core setup has two ARM Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.5GHz and six ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2GHz. The graphics on the processors are handled by the Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. Dimensity900 scores about 480,000 in the AnTuTu benchmark, which is a 10% improvement over the Dimensity820.

 

 

Further, this new chip of MediaTek comes with the following features:

 

• The processor can support both LPDDR5 and LPDDR4X RAM along with UFS 3.1 storage. 
• Supports a 120Hz refresh rate with a Full HD+ display.
• Supports MiraVision HDR video technology which can adjust color, brightness, contrast, sharpness, and dynamic range in videos automatically. 
• Can perform real-time SDR to HDR conversion.

 

 

• comes with Wi-Fi 6 (2x2 MIMO), Bluetooth v5.2 support, and Multi-GNSS L1+L5.
• Supports dual 5G SIM cards.
• Download speeds up to 2.7Gbps.
• supports cameras of up to 108MP resolution.
• Supports video recording up to 4K@30 fps.
