Along with the vanilla S22 and the top-tier S22 Ultra, Samsung also launched the Galaxy S22 Plus in Nepal. Differences between Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus

Talking about the Galaxy S22 Plus, the smartphone is pretty much similar to the vanilla S21 with some minor changes. First off, the S22 Plus features a bigger 6.6-inch display with 1750 nits peak brightness compared to the 6.1-inch, 1300 nits on the S22. With a bigger size, the smartphone also features a bigger 4500mAh battery with 45W fast charging compared to 3800mAh, 25W fast charging on the vanilla model. Further, the S22+ also has Wi-Fi 6E like the S22 Ultra, while the S22 only goes up to Wi-Fi 6.

Design and Display

Samsung Galaxy S22 features a 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x panel with an FHD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The display here has a peak brightness of 1750 nits and can adapt the refresh rate between 10Hz and 120Hz. 

Talking about the design, the smartphone looks similar to the S21 Plus, just slightly smaller. There’s a protection of  Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both the front and the back panel. It also features an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The dimension of the smartphone measures 7.6 mm thick and weighs 196 grams.

Performance

 

The S22 Plus will also feature either a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or an Exynos 2200 processor depending on the region. In Nepal, the smartphone has arrived with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Processor. It comes in a single 8GB LPDDR5 RAM option and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. On the software side, the smartphone runs on the One UI 4.1 on top of Android 12. The software also brings the virtual RAM feature to the smartphone, which uses some internal storage of the device as RAM.

For optics, the S22 Plus has a triple camera setup that consists of a 50MP Samsung GN5 sensor that provides 12.5MP pixel binned images. It is then followed by a 12MP ultrawide with 120-degree FOV and a 10MP telephoto sensor with 30x Space Zoom and 3x optical Zoom. For selfies and video calls, there’s a 10MP fixed-focus camera. 

Samsung has also added some AI enhancements to the cameras, which is said to make nighttime videos and photos brighter, including big pixel sensors, Super Clear Glass, Night Portraits, auto framerate, Super Night Solution, and Adaptive Pixel technology.
