Overview
According to Manish Raj Singhania, President of FADA, November 2022 had the highest retails in the history of the Indian auto industry, with March 2020 serving as an exception when retails were higher as a result of the BS4 to BS6 changeover.
The Great Indian Wedding Season, which runs from November 14 to December 14, will see about 32 lakh marriages celebrated nationwide, according to Singhania. The good run of holiday sales during that season "passed the baton," he continued.
When compared to the prior period of November 2019, which was for the second straight month, general retails showed a gain in all categories, with the exception of 2-wheelers.
Although the 2W segment experienced a massive gain of 24% YoY, it decreased somewhat by 0.9% when compared to November 2019, a pre-covid year. According to retail sales resulting from the ongoing wedding season, this segment is gradually shifting the tides from unfavorable to favorable, Singhania added.
